Hello everyone!

I'm a fairly new beginner when it comes to web programming... I have HTML under my belt, but that's why I'm learning new things. I need your help... I need to find out the best direction I should go about this:

I want to have a classifieds web site. I was thinking that for my membership records I'd use PHP. I also thought that PHP would be the best for the actual classifieds part (advanced searches, etc.), but then I read a thread that said it wasn't the best.

Could you help me know where to go from here? What language should I use to create a classifeds web page... and/or should I purchase a pre-programmed script?

Thanks!

PHP should work fine for writing a classifieds scripts though I'm pretty sure you can find a lot of free open source scripts. Here's a list of Classified Ads Scripts at Hotscripts all written in PHP. It will probably be a mix of free and commercial scripts.

You may not find exactly what you're looking for in a free script, but certainly something you can modify to suit your needs.
