Hi,
I hope this is closest to the appropriate forum...
I'm building up a new community website. ( www.fieldspanieli.com) It's for a real life dog club, but because the members are spread around the country, a strong web precence is needed. I've been trying to set it up on PhpNuke, which is pretty good for the job, but there's some problems with it...
- The users must be given detailed permissions individually. On Nuke, it is hard to make special groups that don't rely on the points system but the position they have in the club (president, publication commitee member etc.).
- The interface has to be pretty simple for a user who doesn't know much about computers. The main need is to make posting of new articles easy enough to gather material through the website. (On nuke, this is pretty simple, but read on...)
- It would be nice if the content sent through the website could be stored in a location of administrators choise, as in Nuke it can only be placed on "Articles" unless copy/paste is used.
- Also, it would be good to be able to set the viewing permission on each article/piece individually, as some of the content is meant for (paid) club members only, but some of the information is for general public.
- I also wish making templates to be pretty flexible... But I understand there's limits to everything.
- The more options the script has, the better.
I don't have time to test every system available, so suggestions would be greatly appriciated!
Thank you in advance of any suggestions!
