Ive been thinking about making a so called "Paid to Read Emails" script, and i was just wondering wot would be the best way to send as much as 25000 emails at once :S

the mail function is definatly not the way to go with that many emails. What your going to want to do is make a socket connection to your SMTP server and wrap all the emails in an env and use RCPT TO:. This will send all the emails in one fell swoop and won't make 25,000 connections to the server.

P.S. Remember that socket programming can be fun but challenging.

shouldnt be that hard, i made a ircbot once with sockets... and IRC RFC as my only manual :P

and ive tried to send emails through telnet so i guess i kinda know how it works

I can sell you a class for sending emails compliat to rfc and supporting authentication .

Just to add a note. You may want to limit the number of emails sent simultaneously. You might even want to limit the number to as little as 50 every 30 seconds. We use the "drip email campaign" for registered users and have had a lot of luck with sending 200 "compliant emails" every minute with <10% being bounced back as spam. When sending 50 I would have at most 2 email bounced back. Good luck

Hrmm, I just wrote an "email bomber" just to play around with PHP classes and javascript w/ DOM...

It can send as many emails as you specify without any problems... Just, the once you start sending over 2,000 emails, you have to set a sleep time between each send, or the server can't keep up with the script.
