I tried using dreamweaver mx so that i can write php code in it, i was hopeing that it would check my syntax when i did a stupid mistake. I am a complete php noob and need a program that will check my code instantly or atleast give me hints or tell me how to fix a problem...

wat sort of hints do u need?

I think he is refereing to syntax codes, maybe forgeting an semicolon in the end or forgeting to close funtion with the } etc.

Dunno if there is a php editor that checks for these. I simply run the scripts and view the errors on my web-server. (I bet everyone does that :P ) But a program like that would help a bit. Especially for all us noobs in php.

If your using VI there are many tricks to make sure you are ending with a ';' or your () {} are matched. Apart from that the above method is the easiest. Run it Fix it.

Thats what makes scripting so wonderfull.
