Not sure what the problem is. Its a new site i'm working on. Dont have many plugins or widgets. The ones not being used are disabled and then removed completely.

Any thoughts otherwise if the problem doesnt go away i cannot see a point in finishing the site using wordpress.

Out of the box wordpress isn't too much of a resource hog. A few poorly coded or resource intensive plugins, however, can change that. The problem is most likely being caused by one of two things:

The server you're site is running on doesn't doesn't have enough resources available, which is common with free/shared hosting.

You have plugins or other modifications that are eating up resources.
