Is PHP really that hard to learn? Kind of a silly question but my new site invloves it and i am going to either have to code it on my own or just hire someone to do the whole site all together.

That depends. Do you have any prior programming experience? I would say that the basics of PHP is fairly easy to catch on to, but it helps to be comfortable with programming syntax, and be patient enough to debug common errors that will occur.

Like wayfarer said, it all depends on how much programming experience you have.

I personally find PHP very easy to learn. I don't have time to learn it inside out, so I just learn what I need as I go.

You can always attempt it and then if you find yourself in over your head you can either ask around in PHP and programming forums or hire someone.

It's based off of C/C++ so if you know any of that it'll help. Seriously though I think PHP is easier to write than HTML and is only as difficult to learn as you want it to be. My sig shows you enough to output information with it, if that's all you ever wanted to do with it you'd have it down. I can't seem to understand javascript but can use PHP pretty well. http://www.w3schools.com/php/default.asp head through there, if you have any questions ask them. The big question is when is your deadline? If you have a month then I'd flip a coin on it depending on your needs as to whether or not you should hire someone.
