hello allz

I need you to suggest me an open-source/free WYSIWYG editor to implement in my site built in PHP.

I need the basic options, the same this editor has when I'm posting here

Also, I need suggestion on a program-code highlighter (you know, [php], [html], [JAVA], [CPP] tags )

Thanks in advance

I would recommend TinyMCE ( http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/ ) if you need something browser based, it's a javascript based WYSIWYG editor that can be easily implemented into html, and it's great when dealing with html.

Though for desktop based editing, I really only know of Dreamweaver (which is not free), though from a search on google ( http://www.google.com/search?q=freeware+wysiwyg+editor http://www.dirfile.com/freeware/wysiwyg-editor.htm) I found a few...I am not sure how good they are though.

When ever i need a WHYSIWYG for browser i always tend to use tinymce its very good has a few good plugins, and is reasonably flexible once you understand how to implement it.

Also it has a compressor script (plugin) which can help speed up loading.

I'd also recommend TinyMCE, but here is probably the biggest list of them on the internet, for both commercial and open-source, complete with feature comparison:

Thanks,

Always good practice. it helps make the forum threads useful for others even after the original poster has found the answer.
