Hello all,

now i have tried googling for this, and i know this *might* not be easily possible depending on how myspace have scripted to protect from automation of this kind.

But on a site i have i have a feed which has events, and theres a myspace account for the charity, and i would like to have the events automatically added to the myspace blog, so how can i make a script which does this?

or does anyone know of a script which can do this?

As far as I know, Myspace doesn't have an option to do that (although Facebook does). I don't think they allow anything beyond some simple html and css. However, you might try looking through some of the OpenSocial applications. MySpace is supposed to be part of OpenSocial, although I'm not sure if they have implemented it yet. If it is possible to put it on myspace, there is a beta site that build widgets called Sprout Builder. It's in closed beta right now, but you can currently get in through this link: http://sproutbuilder.com/readwriteweb/ . I'm fairly certain that they can do what you want to do, it's just a matter if you can put it on myspace or not. Hope that helps. Good luck.

No i dont think myspace support it, i think it would need to be a external script which posts to the myspace thing.

I'm not quite sure why that link didn't work for you because it did for me, but maybe it's cookie based. Another option you could try is to figure out what the specific $_POST fields and the action recipient page are for your myspace blog and then take your event info and create an extra php page that submits your values to Myspace. Your php page could be prefilled with the event data you just filled out when you created your event.

If that doesn't work, see if you can find free flash based rss readers (if myspace allows flash).

im looking at it now, and i have a form which i litterally just made a post directly from, i think may have some issues with the whole token stuff, so i think would be hard to do this automicly.

I just looked at it a little closer and it would be tough. The only way I can think of that you'd be able to do it is to have a script that logs in, scrapes both the form creation token and the recipient token (they're different) and then fills in the info. It could be done, I think, but it would be a lot of work. I tried iframes too, but that doesn't work, either. You might just want to wait until MySpace has Open Social implemented.

i have the form so i knows what needs submitting.

it has a HASH var which it needs to work, will have to look into finding the HASH var so i can scrape it,

i need to learn how to use CURL to post.

and i cant find a nice easy tutorial for it ANYONE!?


biggest problem im finding with myspace is the amount of crap in their code the amount of javascript is doing my head in...
