I am trying to make a blog using wordpress, but am completly lost.

Here's the WordPress Codex, which are the help files. If you're completely new to blogging in general and WordPress in particular you might want to start right at the top.

I'll be happy to help more, but I'm not really certain what it is you need help doing. Is this going to be your first blog?
