How to use twitter effectively?

just follow ppls as much as you can follow then some of them will follow you then you can use it effectively

Twitter can only be used for marketing effectively if and only if you have a long list of targeted followers.

Yup I agree with zooploop, one way to do it is follow others but this is not always an assurance that they will follow you as well..

Whilst I can see the advantage in using twitter for marketing, how do people us it make money from affiliate sales?

Tweeting is a good technique to boost site traffic. Make a blog with quality contents then put a Twitter widget in it. You can get many followers from doing that. Then use it to update your followers about your product pages or anything that you're marketing.

follow people related to your interesting topic on your twittter. Once that you followed them they will also follow you. Then when you tweet put the your link there. But you have to remember you do not want to spam everything that you tweet.

people dont go onto twitter to buy stufff lol they go on there to post messages, ask yourself this would you ever buy anything from a link off someones twitter page, lol I wouldnt thats for sure, twitter is handy for letting customers know of any changes to your site stuff like that !
