If you have a legit, resource page on your site that links out to (and reviews) 50 quality sites in your niche; with all things being equal, do you think it's rankings will be affected if you nofollow everything vs. not doing so.

The resource page isn't a reciprocal deal.

Personally, I don't use "nofollow" in these situations, but curious to hear other views.

thanks

If you TRUST the links on the page why would you be setting a rel="nofollow" on them?

I don't think it will really affect your rankings. However, it won't help the rankings of the other sites either. I would think you would want to help them in hopes of them linking back to you.

Recently i read article my Matt Cutts where he is encouraging use of nofollow. So i guess it should affect if you are linking to your niche sites only.

if you are linking to high quality site which really means to your user will not effect the ranking of your site.

I'm sure he's not encouraging it for a resources page, though. He's probably only encouraging it for forums or blog comments.

If the page is ranking well in search engines, I don't see why you wouldn't use nofollow's. Otherwise, I would stick with links that give your website credit.
