How to get members to post more?

Hi All,
I have a 3 month old travel forum as my first ever website, and i want to try and get my members to post more, so as to stimulate discussion and attract other members etc.

What are your ideas as to how to get my members to post more?

Im thinking a competition of some sort, but im on a budget so prizes would have to be small, perhaps vouchers?

So questions:
What sort of competition?
What sort of prizes?
Any other ideas to get members to meaningfully contribute?

Conflict gets people going. Write things that will upset some people and you will get plenty of post. Put a rumour section in as well!

Thats not a bad idea as long as its within reason and of course relates to the website.

Post more yourself. Write things people will want to reply to. That's usually the easiest way... and get some friends to help too. Good luck
