I started this site back in August. We finally hit 100 registered users this weekend. I've done a ton of marketing on Facebook and MySpace under the name Ringo Pinion and Ring n' Pinion respectively. Just can't seem to get more folks to register...thoughts? Heck, I'm even giving stuff away.

Site looks good to me, maybe you should now relax on it for awhile and more will arrive...But remember, you can't *stop* advertising out right, you need to just wait a week or two, maybe even 3 weeks before you go at it again...It's a continuious cycle that should eventually payoff.

Good Luck

I've done a ton of promotion on myspace and facebook, so we'll see. Thanks for checking it out and your suggestions.

Which begs the question, have you done anything useful in the way of promotion?

Such as? I'm fairly new to the whole promotional aspect of this, so any advice is appreciated.

First off - Know your prospective audience, and where they are found online.

Second - Decide what your site is going to be. At the moment it looks a cross between an event listing service and a forum, and neither is winning.

Reorganize the structure and rationalise the categories, so it doesn't look 95% empty.

Have a club listing section rather than dozens of disparate cats, when you get 6 or 7 from one area create a sub cat and move them.

Do the same with events

When it gets bigger, THEN you can spread things out.

But right now it looks less than interesting.

Go and find the websites for these clubs, offer them a listing in return for a mention on their site. Set out to create a usable, useful, important resource for people looking for said clubs and events.

Going out and machine gunning "social media" sites hoping to get a few lucky shots in isn't the ideal way. Go looking with a purpose and pick your targets carefully.

It looks good however the sad part is barely anyone visits forums anymore, as I have developed forum themes for over 10 years thats a dampner in itself the truth behind it is there are too many out there but don't let that get you down, keep people coming in advertising and keep the content fresh and great then word of mouth will spread and people will remember your url and visit your site to see the latest gossip.
