I think you broke it.
it happens from time to time. By the way I noticed you followed me this morning and I followed you back. I haven't spent much time there today, but I'm sure I'll catch you on Twitter at the same time I'm on before too long.

Twitter was a huge success since its inception...and still is...and that's also their problem.
Because they never anticipated that success their infrastructure is struggling with such growth and it seems frequently goes down...
Twitter is the biggest Ruby on Rails website outhere and some says their scalling issues is coming from the fact that Ruby can't scale (not yet at least)...some people said they'll change the platform (moving to PHP)...some others says they'll stick with RoR...
They appeared many times on Techcrunch, many times because of the downtime: http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/05/31...questions-too/

Twitter can drive a huge amount of traffic to your site but would only help if your profile pages were public.

Yes I use twitter everyday! I have personally purchased every last twitter software I could find to see whats the best one.. I love "Tweet Tornado" its the best by far.. It lets me manage hundreds of accounts at the same time and I can generate more than 10,000 new followers in a single day! DONT WASTE MONEY ON THE OTHER SOFTWARE FOR TWITTER. Plus Tweet Tornado has a 21 minute training video so you get results the first day! oh.. and I think they still have a 24 hour free trial.. I hope this helps people make more money on twitter.
Have a great day everyone!

Sorry folks, but I'm with James on this. I don't really care what time someone goes to the mall, park, a concert or the bathroom for that matter....
Just don't get why so many people need to report what they are doing at different times of the day.... And isn't it true you can only type about 15kb's or so? Doesn't that come out to like a 4 word sentence? What's the point?
DON U TINK TATS PROMOTNG IMPROPR SPLLNG, POR ENGLSH N MOR DUM SLANG?
So far the only thing good I've heard is that it uses a digital type of format so it's very fast right? Maybe if it becomes more advanced and can be used in other ways, but for now.... I don't have time to stop and send blasts out to anyone just to let them know what I'm doing at a given moment!

It just depends on who you follow.
I follow a lot of star developers. I often find interesting tidbits to enhance my software development skills. The folks who post the random banter, just get the un-follow.

If you are looking forward to the London 2012 Olympics follow me on Twitter at "2012forum". I won't bombard you with Tweets - just useful / good news stuff e.g. volunteering, 2012 jobs etc as when I come across it
Cheers

I'm a big fan of Twitter too. I just love this social network, for those who haven't try it don't worry it's so easy to use and you'll surely like it too.

yeah now see - your reasons could be useful but the socializing part.... You can get that on FACEBOOK or a chat room or text messaging or you could always pick up the phone and actually talk to someone, if you so desire it. But I don't understand why anyone would want to inform their friends what they are doing 3-4 times every day. It just doesn't make sense to me. Is there no privacy anymore? Or how about just a break from friends or family. I just don't see the attraction. if you're using it for "social networking" (it should be described as "I'm nosey what you are doing today -this minute"?) It just seems so frivolous and meaningless. Besides how do people have the time to stop or pause their daily stuff and send blasts out to bunches of people - some whom you have never met?
