Hi,

I live in a pretty small county with maybe 150,000 citizens. I did a search on google for something similar, but it dont seem to exsists. If any they are pretty small and dead so I wanna give it a try.

So what do you think about making a forum for my county. Is that a good idea or is it to generic ?

Bad idea. 150,000 citizens is not much. If you take out the old people, the kids, the busy people, you'll only get a few people who might be interested in your forum.
I wouldn't bother if I was you. But I might be wrong.

If it is small, chances are the market is big enough for one player. And if you are the first, chances are you will be the biggest. Just to offer another point of view.

Think of the local business who will pay you to access that kind of traffic. Pretty targetted to location I believe.

I would agree with this comment to some extent, although you need to consider how many of your 150,000 population have Internet access, how often they go online, what they do when they go online and how long they log on for.

trying new things is always good ,but seeing your less visitors its not worth much.

But remember every successful sites just start with a small communities..you could be the hero in your communities.on this side its worth trying...

Lets say rapidshare.de was a very small in the beginning but finally came to be the topper is file sharing more than rapidshare.com
