I own a make money online forum. I had around 78 members and 630 posts in just 23 days. This is because I offered a FREE report which attracted many people. I found it is easy to get members with this report (but can't get traffic to view this report). I know there are lots of people who want to make money online. But I don't know where to get such people to participate in my forum. Any suggestions?

I get a few new people to my money making forum everyday, i think mostly from search engines. It's a pretty new forum but the people are just there to advertise. I allow the advertising to attract members and fill up the boards for now. I just want to know how to get people to DISCUSS topics as well.

What about posting on other forums which allow this sort of stuff, but then I guess there are very few of them as it will be considered as spamming. But then some forums have advertising sections.

Well, be careful with that. I don't want to turn your forum into a spammer's magnet. Too much spam on your forum will turn away potential members.

potential members are mostly interested in getting referrals to their sites. some of them actually talk instead of just advertising. i just dont know how to find more good ones.

What is your forum about? We can probably exchange links.

Build targeted backlinks or participate constructively on related blogs. Your sig gets noticed if you post good comments and topics. Just don't spam as this will set a red flag on your reputation

You can use facebook, and build a "replicate" of this forum as a group on facebook, and use the viral effect of the site to bring traffic to your forum.
