Hi, on my forum my users login, then post around 1-3 times and then log out. That keeps them online for about 1-5 minutes. Any tips on helping them stay active while they're logged in?
Post questions that can't be answered immediately. Don't be totally obvious about it, but start topics that make people WANT to chime in. If you have an OT section, start some games to get people chatting.
You got to put yourself in their shoes. You log in to this forum for what? Content. If this forum doesn't have new topics ever few hours too read why would you come back to this forum?

As intuitive as your comment is, I must admitt I rarely look at my forum from a users perspective. I allready have a few ideas right off the bat! I agree with everyone here that content is key...although keeping content fresh is equally important. Most forums have an abundance of content. Something as simple as bumping interesting threads that have been lost and forgotten can make a noticiable difference in activity!
