Well the title basically summarises it. Is there any of your previous communities, ones that you sell, that have gone down the hill?

I used to own http://www.pixelgoat.com and now it is a HUGE spam fest. Was funny when I went back. It went up to PR 5 and he just sold links and people have been spamming the heck out of the forum :P

Any of you guys?

I haven't sold any forums either, however, I have gone back to forums I used to post at only to find them in shambles.

I sold http://gamingfury.com/ a little before I lost intrest in gaming.
They slapped vbulletin on it put a new design on it, but did nothing to promote it. But meh, I made money from the sale.

I hade one In sold about 2 years ago, it had 5000 members and now it is like totally dead and I do not think any of the active users then will come back.

Sad, but true!

Actually most forums I sell I try to make them fool proof before I sell them.

Recent example would be preludezone.com. The guy did nothing but replace my ads with his and mess the template up a bit.

He doesn't login or anything but that's because I had a good staff and a volunteer admin. So he doesn't have to.

Few other success stories halofans.com and vtctalk.com. vtctalk doesn't get many posts but gets a lot of visitors daily from SEs because of the great content and high paying videoconferencing adsense clicks.

Only too failures I've ever sold were dualpartisan.com and bigloveboards.com

I sold out from my portion of the ownership of one site/forum that took an almost immediate nosedive after I left. It was the reasons that I left that ultimately caused the site to go into the tank, and nobody listening to me which made me get out.

And this is a big-boards site.

I owned a forum that was doing alright but it went completely dead in a matter of days so I waited it out and still nothing happened so I finally deleted it the other day.
