tips on getting people to sign...

i need more tips on getting people to sign up on my forums http://www.mafia-sh1t.p4h.biz/forum Also known as the Gamer's Forum, also can be access by http://www.gamers-forum.uni.cc but that domain isnt up 100% of the time. the first domain always works. So far, most of the members signed up cuz they know me and i told them to sign up. I dont make enough money to advertise with google or yahoo. so any tips that will get me more members on my forum for free. I have currently 40 members, my goal is to get 500.

I looked at your website. It looks good, but your buttons don't work Every time I clicked on something the page could not be retieved. Need to fix that. Try to use this forum as much as you can. Alot of people like to play games and would be interested in your site. I wish you the beat of luck...Liz

lol thanks, and are u talking about the button on the site or forum...because i didnt fix anything on the site yet, the site and forum are completely different, i couldnt get another domain, so i use the forum as a subdomain to my site, and the buttons on the forum should work fine

lol, yea i know, but i cant afford to get a domain of my own now, i was thinkging of getting www.gamers-forum.net for it, but no money means no domain

That's no excuse.... you can get .info domains for less than $2.

Next time someone treats you to fast food tell them to just give you the money. You can buy a .com with it.

I always do that! When I go out with my friends to McDonalds or something, I just don't eat and I buy a domain. (not everytime of course)

well, dont i have to pay for the domain through paypal? i dont have a paypal account, and i cant set up a paypal account because i dont have a credit card or a bank account, and my parents wont do it for me because they think that i should just focus on school work, im thinking of getting a job after school when school opens up again, and maybe get me a credit card so i can buy it then, i've been looking for a job for a while now, no luck

so this is what i did, i added a new board, called Topic Of The Month, people will post jokes, good/funny stories, tips, anything good there, something they think will be liked by others, and if 10 people likes it, it is made sticky for a month, i know its not much, but i cant offer much, and i've made it so if you dont sign up, you cant see a few boards and cannot view topics in most of the boards, because some boards have some good topics, hopefully that'll get people curious enough to sign up

, if that doesnt work for me in the next month or two, i will unrestrict those, and im still working on getting a domain of my own

i bought a new domain called www.gamers-forum.com for my forum, and i have to exp in setting it up, help would be appreciated, i got it from yahoo. the domain, and it has been activated today, i want www.gamers-forum.com to be there instead of my forum url now, which is www.mafia-sh1t.p4h.biz/forum

How about going to Godaddy and getting some suggestions for a cleaner domain?

I just checked and THEGAMERSFORUMONLINE.COM is available. Or something like that.

Writing gamer articles and posting them to related ezines that accept articles could get your link out there for free. There are content sites that accept articles where ezine publishers draw from, too.

o man, yabb is really good in my opinion of course, i find it one of the easiest forum softwares to use, i've used phpbb and yabb just seems easier, the admin controls are just simple, maybe thats why i like it, and recently on my forum, i added a weekly quiz, check out this weeks, quiz, all tru and false questions http://gamers-forum.com/YaBB.pl?num=1157227735/0#0 and next week i'll have harder questions, u dont have to sign up and answer the questions right there, but u can just view it there and answer to urself, i'll put up answers to all questions in the quiz every friday and questions go up every saturday
