Well with MySpace now emerging as the best place to go to get teenagers. Can we use MySpace for our forums?

As for a few of use the target audience is on MySpace.

So, Can they play a role?

I've used myspace before for some of my forums, actually my most recent one has had quite a few myspace bulletins (I made my own account for it, didn't pay for it.) I found that it does help a little bit. You get a couple members, but not as many as you'd like. Then again, I only have 250ish friends on my account that I advertise with. If you did it with an account with 20K friends, you might have better luck.

Yes, I just tried it out with a new account and I got 15 guests and one registered and started posting immediately.

They get tired of bulletins though and eventually stop reading them cause they know you're just advertising, that's why you always need new friends.

EDIT: Make sure you reply very fast to their topics, that way they think it's active, even if it's a new forum.

Look at Kanosis. It has MySpace, Google, Skype, Plaxo, MS Project, Groove all linked into one.

Is there any easy way to turn off bulletins all at the same time?

Too many of them.

I thought the same thing, but I am worried about promoting the forum I made for my city on myspace as I don't want my only members to be teenagers. Once I have some adult, mature members I can afford to have teens around ( teens in my area, except for very few are imature, but then again so are adults in my area lol )

MySpace is great for certain websites. A flash game website can get so much traffic from myspace. If you have the right niche its definetly worth it.

A lot of people assume MySpace is full of teens. While this is true there are also a hell of a lot of adults on there too. If you're trying to market on MySpace try searching for groups relating to your product or website.
