I would like to get started in promotional products marketing -- ASI products some people call it -- as in Advertising Specialties

I have very little cash to start up -- I need to get a PPAI number for as low a cost as possible, so as to get into the network of suppliers and distributors

does anyone have suggestions on how I can make this happen for a very small sum of money?

For a start, you can try minimal number of products at first. See what products are trending depending on your audience and market.

Maybe you can also incorporate affiliate marketing there.

I am a fairly new ASI member (ASI# 581700)

If you would like to get involved in the advertising specialty industry without much start-up money it may be best to to your selling as an affiliate of someone (like me) who is already connected to the network of suppliers and distributors. Otherwise Monthly ASI dues are $150.

I would be happy to help you get started in this industry. As I said I am pretty new myself but I may be able to help with marketing ideas (such as referral/rewards programs, newsletters and business cross promotions) and provide access to the entire network of promotional item distributors.

In starting, you should start with small products and that should be relevant to your sites. Promotional products like Pen, Copy, mugs etc. are very trendy and beneficial for promotion of products and branding.

Nice answer. I have bookmarked this article for future use. I have a blog about stock exchange. For that blog, I might introduce promotional products like T-Shirts or Caps in the future...

Nice idea. Mugs are much cheaper than T-Shirt.
