I have to say that I am disappointed in the participation thus far though it's still early and things could reverse direction. Many of the current results are not even eligible (mostly aged or authority domains talking about the contest).
...There are some really great prizes for the top 5.
...It supports a Charity by giving them a bit more publicity.
...I don't ask for or require any links back to WT. That's completely up to you.
Maybe it's SEO Contest Fatigue, maybe it's the that I require a new domain name?
WT is not as well known as a SEO discussion forum but I'm hoping to change that to some degree. Many of the popular SEO Blog type websites have not even talked about this contest but they have talked about many of ther others. Makes me wonder.
John Scott talked about the group of A-List bloggers who control the upper blogosphere on his Internet Marketing Blog. It's like a clique. I think the same applies for the A-list SEO community. It's a clique. Maybe some of them will reconsider talking about our contest. Or maybe because we are not really in the "A-list" SEO forums they don't even know about it?
I apreciate V7N for allowing discussions of this contest on their forum.
Because of the rule set I don't expect near the participation of some of the other contest but lets not make it to gosh darn easy for the winners of this contest.
Again, there is still plenty of time to get involved and you might be surprised how you do. If you are not participating simply talking about the contest on you website would help and I would appreciate it. I'll do what I can to try and get more buzz out about the contest.
