Ummm

Is this not available to everyone?

Quote:
CAL, you do not have permission to access this section of Webmaster-Talk.com.

This could be due to one of a couple reasons:

You are trying to access the PM (Private Message System) without having 5 posts. After you reach five posts it may take some time for our system to update your permissions.

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?

If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Wow, what a great feature! Really nice to see WT is giving back to it's members as usual - in a financial way this time!

Thanks, Tim!

There is an open source mod released that does the same thing, as well as some commercial products. The released mod was messy and didn't have the options we wanted (like tweaking chance, turning it off/on for usergroups), and the commercial product wasn't something we wanted to pay. So, it's a custom feature coded exclusively for WT

Im so confused....
So, the google ads I see up in the top right corner are tied to a members adsense account?
And you get a better chance of having ads tied to your account shown if you are a new thread poster or if you posted last in a thread?
It sounds cool, but Im not sure I totally understand.

Thats right You get ad impressions for posting new threads and when you are the last poster of a thread. If you start a new thread, you'll get impressions about 50% of the time every time a user views that thread. When you reply, you'll get impressions about 25% of the time while your post is the last reply. So the more you post, the more impressions you'll get

Great idea, but who's to say that people won't click on ads over and over again to get others band by Google?

Kline, you make an excellent point...

But I doubt it'll be too much of a problem - Google tend to be good about invalid clicks, and I'm sure understand publishers don't have any control over people clicking their ads. Otherwise, there'd be mayhem with Adsense reliant, competitive sites...

Is it just me or is everybody replying to this to "test" out the system?...

Another question, does this include older threads as well? I signed up and tested looking for my Adsense ID in the thread I posted today, and the numbers were different even after reload, so how exactly does this work?
