Hello members.

I really would like to see this forum grow (and it is), however we need more active members (which happens over time). I am very happy with the growth of our forum, and am very pleased with the quality of members we have, but I would like to reach 1000 members within the next coulple months.

I am going to be spending some money on webmaster-talk in the next week or so (probably about $100) so I was wondering if you can help me out.

No, I am not asking for money (but check out the new advertisement forum. All revenue goes towards advertising and it only costs $4.95).

What I am asking is if you might be able to do any of the following suggestions:

1. Refer all your fellow friends and Webmasters to Webmaster-Talk. The refer a friend link is at the bottom of each page and it even uses your refferral ID.
2. Maybe put a link to us from your site! We also have any affiliate program on Fineclicks.com offering .08 to .25 per new member.
3. Have a newsletter? Mention us there!

If you could do any or all of the following it would be greatly appreciated.

Please keep in mind that I like to reward members who help us

Of course if you would like to buy an ad, that would help out also.

I will be buying paid advertising for Webmaster-Talk in webmaster email newsletter, and probably a few CPM banner campains on a few sites.

If you have more suggestions on helping Webmaster-Talk grow, please feel free to reply. And I truly appreciate all of our members.

Thank You

Yeah I have some tricks up my sleeve I could use.

I belong to a lot of sites with member bases in the 2000 - 10,000 range that opt in to receive paid emails. I could buy an ad easily.

I also belong to a few traffic exchanges. I will probably use my favorite one though. I like it because I can play hands of poker while earning credits for hits to my site. I would just have to change the url and that is easy.

I also recently registered drachewyn.com as a personal site and I do plan to link to any forums I belong to from there.

Also I am a member of about 120 safelists with an estimated total viewing audience of around 100.000 people although some may be duplicates if they also joined more than one list.

I will see what I can cook up this week. I will use my board referral ID but I won't join the affiliate program.

I will do this because I like you and the other board leaders. Friendship is always worth more than money any day.

Heidi

So it's shift into high gear and let the world know about Webmaster-Talk Forum!

Another suggestion is not to forget your signature on forums or in emails. I don't know how many people are using their sig files on forums, or in groups, but you can always put your referral link there too. And I don't suggest that you take out your own business or whatever and replace it....but if it's not in use....

Email sigs are also good to use. Again, if you use that for your own business....

Have some friends and/or webmasters that might benefit or benefit others by being a member? Let 'em know about Webmaster-Talk.

Dave

Okay bought my first paid advertising for Webmaster-Talk so we shall see how it goes.

This paid ad will go out later today when the webmaster wakes up. It will go out to all members of SuperCashEmail.com and PennyWage.com.

I have no idea how many members that will reach but I do know that between both sites I personally have about 400 referrals.

Average for these paid to read email sites is usually 4,000 or more members.

Some have an insane 10,000 - 13,000 or more members.

Enjoy Chief. I hope this brings lots of new members to the forums.

That's great, Heidi! By the way, I joined SuperCashEmail awhile back to see how it goes with ads and getting paid for reading emails. That will be cool to see!

I will post in the appropriate spot a question about how you got all those referrals. Sounds like you have some good methods.

Another method to get hits here and some potential members is by joining in the startpages listed for the forum. Just a thought!

Did I refer you or did you just sign up from the main page?

Ah ok, I belong to about every single paid to read email there is except one and that one I left it for personal reasons.

The owner liked to email the members slanderous comments about other PTR site owners as a paid to read email.

I got tired of it so I left. I don't need all that bad karma and negativity...

Well, I can say for a fact that Drachewyn has sent us lots of traffic over the last couple of days! I wonder what stopped most of them from joining so far?

Yep my stats from today show 1396 hits to the link. I guess that is a lot...?

I don't know what is keeping them from signing up. I am going to click my link and take a look at what they see.

Have you consideered sponsorships?

For example with your hosting forum ... you could possibly go to other hosting companies and offer them a sponsorship [in the main text ... like in freewebspace.net] for a fee of like $5? And as the posting increases there, possibly charge more?

Nice forums btw ... bookmarked and lurker mode on ... posting will begin soon

Here is what I have done fo far.

Purchased a patron ad on one of our members sites.

Got listed in the Yahoo Directory.

Purchased a few ezine ads.

1. To 2900 webmasters in one ezine. To be sent May 28
2. To 4600 site developers and internet marketers, and promoters in another ezine. To be sent May 30.

Much more soon

Well, it looks likoe our first ad got us about 15 or so new members. How many of you were referred through a newsletter that just went out?

I think our next ad to 4600 will do much better than the last (I hope) It's to be sent May 30.

I am in the meantime looking for more targettted ezines to advertise in (they seem to bring in the most for the buck). And we already have 2 affiliate programs....

Until later.....,

See Ya and Thanks
