Hi Guys. We've just switched over domains so that webmaster-talk.com, tycoontalk.com, tycoon-talk.com etc. will all be pointing to tycoontalk.freelancer.com. We've moved to the Freelancer domain as we have a whole range of services that will soon be accessible via single sign on.

It doesn't look like there will be many WT members left to enjoy those new services, from what I'm seeing, and more like myself contemplating leaving, because what they knew has effectively been destroyed. Webmaster-Talk is now officially dead.
And there's really been no official dispute of that fact, so who would blame the ones who left? This is no longer a webmaster forum, this is a forum dedicated to outsourcing jobs in an economy where jobs are already scarce, so there goes your American market. Somewhere buried under heaps of forums I think I still saw the web stuff, though it's been largely inactive. Oh, well, guess if you want to keep your membership you have to consider it.

I'm officially LEAVING. I found another forum, WebDevRefinery. They also have Tapatalk. Plus they have a mobile theme as well. Goodbye. Deleting my account. . .

"Sire"!
"The peasants are revolting"!
King replies:
"Yes I know they are"!
"But somebody has to pay the taxes"

People have asked some good questions in this thread and I hope they will get answered.
Will the same Moderators keep their positions?
I see it both ways, I understand why the new owners want to re-brand to make it their own, but I'm worried that this re-branding they have chosen might not keep the same feel/atmosphere

Webmaster-talk WAS a family! There are alot of us that became close friends and most of us have left. WMT had a certain feel to it that is diminishing. I'm with Tim on this one. I'm thinking about leaving, but I'm not sure yet.

Some have been answered through actions by the new ownership, I'm sure the other questions will be addressed as well - though they may not be the answers we hope for.

Hey, Kandi! It's good to see you back here! Can't say for how long, with the place being gutted of everything that had a soul to it, but you of course I'll see elsewhere. Seems these days the mods are the only familiar avvies, and a handful of others.

Tim, if you're not happy over what has basically amounted to a name change and the axing of a forum where insults are traded at others religion and political affiliations, you're free to move on.
That's all that's happened. Storm in a teacup.

If that's all this amounts to, and everyone else is happy, then perhaps you'd like to answer some of the questions these happy folk have? Right here in this very thread?
And for the record, the Politics and Religion forum was created to be like the water cooler -- We don't JUST talk about business and tech. It had some fairly intelligent subject matter, that was where the grown-ups went to talk, though of late a few young'uns slipped through. I doubt you actually read back to discover that fact.
But you're right, if you're content not to listen to any of the above posters, to effectively kill WT and wrap it in an unrelated forum, to alienate those who come in here looking for web advice and seeing Business Fishy instead, who then leave, and to alienate our current WT membership by living up in a tower and occasionally handing out the next royal decree, then there isn't much reason to stick around. Pardon me for thinking that as an admin with the life of the forum in mind you might actually give me reason to stay, not tell one of the highest posting, respected members to take a hike. That's pretty telling of the state of affairs.

Very modest But poor management.
I also don't understand why the SEO & Internet Marketing category appears above the Programming Category now. People come here mainly for coding help, so surely the most active and most viewed forums (programming) should appear first.
Looks like the mind has been made up now though, especially with that last post effectively telling Tim to go

Am I the only one excited about this?
I was just about to harass Chris into starting a C/C++ forum... so this is wicked cool. Can't wait to see all the new contributing members with code help.
Very happy about this
