Heads Up: WT Move

Hey All,
Just wanted to let everyone know WT is moving to a new home tonight at 9:00 EST. You'll still be able to get here the same way as always, but know there might be some down time while the move is taking place.

Where's it going? (or why?)
I haven't really noticed any problems, slowdowns, etc. since the move to the last server.
Just hope this move doesn't cause more problems than what we've been having (which is virtually none).

Actually I don't know. All I know is what I posted above. I'm just the messenger here. I assume the servers are being upgraded or maybe the hosting company is moving the site to a different server for some internal reason. I honestly don't know. Just wanted to make everyone aware in case you have problems later tonight so you know it's not a problem and it's only temporary. |

Well, since yesterday, I've been noticing slowdowns and server problems, not before, hopefully they don't continue for awhile.

And all my subscribed threads are no longer coming through the email notification. Which for me is a really nice feature.
I sent some test message a few minutes back and they also are not coming through. Please advise, thank you!

I'm getting the server down message too. Remembering from previous upgrades similar things happened for a couple of days and then everything was working again only better. I'd say patience through the weekend is in order.
Giselle that's strange about not having the subscribed thread notification. Did your user options get changed? Or are they still set as they always were? That shouldn't happen.
If everything is set right in your profile and you still aren't getting the email notification let me know and I'll direct your message to those that have the ability to fix things.

No Steven, no email notification to this thread or any kind of email notifications of other threads I subscribe to. In the Suggestion and Feedback forum I made a test message a couple of hours ago, made a couple of replies and nothing back. The first thing I checked in the control panel was to see if the email notification was in place and it was. Everything in my user control panel is set just like it was. Also checked my server, just in case the emails were sitting there, no, nothing there either.
I would deeply appreciate anything you can do.

Hey Giselle - if you're still unable to receive email notifications, you can do a forum search for your user name. That's what I do, and it works like a charm.

Working just great Steven! Yesterday I also had server not found error about 11 AM Pacific time, I couldn't get on at all and this went on for about an hour with no luck. Plus I have been having the dsl lookup errors as well and very slow to move around the site. Webmaster Talk certainly is back to normal today! Everything is working great today!
My husband assured me it was on our end due to not enough memory, especially yesterday. Well it was a nice try, I know he wants to do a complete internal overhaul on the computers.  |

Things seemed to have started working again sometime yesterday. I'm not sure what happened, but good to see the forum back. If anyone does notice things that aren't working let me know and I'll get the word to those who can fix it.

Everything seems to be working fine, I was gone for the weekend on holiday. My little brother graduated. But I too enjoy receiving instant email messages to subscribed threads, so I am glad all the bugs where worked out before I could notice.
