As some of you have already noticed, the time limit to edit a post by the poster is 24 hours after being submitted. After the 24 hours is up, the poster can no longer edit the post.
Here are the editing times:
5 minutes to edit thread title
60 minutes to add a poll
1440 minutes to edit thread
1 minute to edit post without the "edited by" note
Unfortunately, 90% of most rules are made because of 10% of the people, and this is one of them. The reasoning behind this is that we have had several very good threads that were ruined because the original poster got disgruntled about something with the other posts and then would go in and change the original post making the following post useless and meaningless since they don't now appear to go with the replying posts. Yes, it happens every now and then, but not anymore.
I hope you understand the changes and the reason for so doing.
James I don't think there was any limit on when you could still edit your posts. We've had a few people go in and basically delete their original post in a thread at later dates making the rest of the thread useless.
Nice Thought. I welcomes you. Hey I'm having a suggestion! But i didn't know how it works. Can we delete the unanswered Thread( Those thread has no reply ) after 50 or 100 Visit.

Only Mods/Admins have delete powers. If there is a thread that you originated that you would like deleted, please send a pm to one of the mods for that forum or one of the admins.

Why not 2 or 3 minutes: Sometimes,
i think i should edit something, which are just curios spelling mistakes or something, and
sometimes i want to add something, but which should not be seen by anybody.
Anway, just an idea............
Wont this cause increase in post count raise etc, people will have a excuse to post more posts which could be avoided by editing, like alot of threads/posts some of them people add to ad a situaion progresses seems a bit silly to keep reposting
i can see why but can differant times be given to members who have been here longer etc and show that they arnt silly and that?...

I don't think that it will have a large bearing on people adding more posts because they can't edit their first post after 24 hours.
Presently, the edit time is the same for all members (not counting the staff) and it's set in one place.
Being here longer doesn't necessarily make people...umm, how to put this... more or less silly. Past experience with this has shown that anyone could have a "change of heart" at any time and could really mess up a lot of threads by editing their posts.
