Personally I like some of the features, but the overall presentation isn't great. It definitely still needs some work.

Bing or Live, no matter what they name their search engine, I don't feel the difference. Bing has some extra features that I don't really need. If they don't improve their serp, I can't see their future.

I like it - I'm also glad that Microsoft isn't claiming it to be a Google Killer - there's just NO WAY.

They have simplified things and they do have some really good ideas. Time will tell though.

Searching for my name I was only number 6

OTOH, has anyone played with Bing's Webmaster Tools?

You'd think with the Billions of dollars they invest in their products that they could afford a better website designer...

Yes Live is known as Bing. It was launched last June 1st. So far, for me it works pretty well. It has a nice layout though. But I'll just wait and see for its progress.

Live and now Bing ranks Onpage SEO factors with great importance. The SE ranks Meta data so much so that the actual SE is more like a directory where people tell the SE what they want to rank for (you can easily manipulate Onpage Factors). On Google they value Offpage SEO (popularity and peoples vote - that's what a backlink is in a way, a vote) to determine what is the best and verifies this with a sites Meta data to avoid irrelevant results. The 2nd approach is more scalable and utlizes the power of the internet (people) while the first one doesn't scale and isn't affected by peoples link velocity (opposite of Twitter in a way). I see Bing as a step backwards for Search.

On the other hand, if you are getting traffic from Bing, awesome! Chances are you are optimised well with ONpage SEO and your traffic will almost certainly convert well into $$$ due to the extreme targeting of the engine to Meta data.

I actually feel that the BING us-version is quite good. Particularly when it comes to pictures and stuff like that. Also loves that you can see the "whole" webpage without opening it. The beta versions on the otherhand (in local languages) is just plain terrible! WHEN WILL THEY UPDATE THOSE!!!

Also, fun fact, they do not not handle local charecters at all. So if you search on the norwegian word "lån" you will only get results about LAN (Local Area Networking) Guess this is some of the reason they havent rolled out the local versions yet

Well, bing little by little is getting themselves known. I won't be surprised if one day they get to be on top, if they keep improving of course. But I doubt that's anytime soon.
