I don't know what it is about my sites but I've been getting a flood of traffic from MSN/Live search. As far as the "big three" goes, here's my ratio of hits from search engines...

Google: 70%
MSN/Live : 29%
Yahoo : 1%

Of course Google is my biggest source of traffic but MSN has blown Yahoo away in the last year.

Here's a tip for MSN/Live ---> They love the H1 tag. Use it with your title keywords and watch the results. If you don't like the H1 tag causing linebreaks, you can use the CSS property "display:inline" to stop the linebreaks.

Same here smart, i have jumped to number 1 for a massive keyword on one of my sites, not really sure why i have suddenly appeared at number 1, my own hard work hopefully lol, when i am not really anywhere on yahoo or google.

Its a shame that msn/live doesnt give anywhere near as much traffic as yahoo or google

Getting more traffic is good news. I too have found an huge increase in referrels from live.com in the past few days, a 10 fold increase. I though this was a blip. Hope it continues.

I have also had a large number of hits come in I have also seen a majour number of pages get indexed which I only had 10 pages indexed to start with now its up and down around the 1000 mark

I am trying to test a theory which based of it LIVE now puts huge emphasis on site age.

Those of you who have seen increase in SERP, would you care sharing the age of the sites as well.

I already know that a site may be old but not performing well, I want to know if a site performs well, is it neccessary old.

My sites 3 years old there are lots of older sites below mine, so im not sure about ur site age theory. Incidentally the top site on my keyword previously was a new site.

So i think i am putting it down to hard work and good advice from webmaster talk, thats got me high on msn live

Actually the theory is not mine, I got it from other forums.
Your site is one evidence that goes with the theory. - 3 years is considered old from the LIVE point of view -
As I said you might have a old site that doesn't have a good rank but you cannot have a new site that get a good rank.

In the past we could have a one month old site with a very good rank but now it has changed. Some mention 4 months and some 1 years.

Do you remember the url of the site previously hold the top position? Would you try site: command to see how many pages of that site are still indexed. - I guess only a few -

Errr no i cant remember it and it seems to have disapeared from msn live, well the first 10 pages anyhow, i didnt look beyond that
