Does anyone know of any other place to buy books online that has a good affiliate program? I'm looking for something like this for my recommended reading section of my website, but do not want to use amazon if most people do not have luck with them.

Amazon is good when you a lot of niched visitors. Like if you have a golf site you can offer your readers all kinds of golf products. You can do reviews on specific products and produce more content around it. The bad thing about Amazon is that their cookie only last 1 day.

AdSense is the best option for some stuff like if you want a bookstore affiliate. Yes their commission rato is pretty bad.

I have noticed amazon and adsense income diminishing every year.
Inevitable I guess.

Certainly Amazon has never worked well across our sites.

Overall though, if you have the space on your page, I would still say to use Adsense, amazon, ebay, clickbank and other specific Ads.

If you have blog which has decent traffic and bunch of trusted readers You can earn from Amazon. You can sell them buy giving a all information about product you can recommend. Specially if you have a site about books this is the best way. I have a blog which I have able to keep 6% sales rate so far.

I think, if you have a good product and know how to promote it, it's worth it

Couple of months back on one of the sites has hung up thematic advertising from Amazon - different gadgets from area Home Security/Surveillance Equipment. Has come to draw time any conclusions, I look in statistics:

And what here in general conclusions can be?

Product Link Clicks - 487
Other Clicks - 207
Clicks - 656
TOTAL CONVERSION - 0.00 %

In general - nonsense it, instead of the partner program...

anyone ever thought of an e-book affiliate program? You would have to do a hell of a lot of work to get it to work though.

Personally, i like Amazon.

The thing i like is that, for sellers, there is no fee until your item is actually sold. This (in my view) beats eBay, as on eBay you have to pay fees up-front whether your item sells or not!

Also, you can keep your item on there for as long as you want.....no '10 day' time frame to sell. ;-)

Hi Audio mad,

Yes Amazon is very much worth using, especially around Christmas, because consumers spend there money on "real" products not info products around this time. But you have to know how to use it the right way. If you want to avoid the common mistakes users make in promoting amazon and make some great money this Xmas.....then

I generate 80-150 sales per month but commission is low and the greatest problem is 24h cookie. If they extend cookie life to month)) Amazon can be a great business then.

It's worth it, some people making pretty nice money with Amazon. Your amazon products must be 100% targeted to content. You can have a results then.
My Conversion is around 3% and i generate 80-150sales/month. Mostly Movies, books but also HDTVs and other electronics.

My experience with Amazon has been that very specific, targeted products like financial advice or technical IT books work fairly well, not spectacular. The more you describe a certain book, the better it does.
I have rarely had a sale for a gadget or home theater item, so have mostly dropped those.
