I went to ASE to investigate expanding my understanding of Affiliate products. My sites haven't been successful in the past with affiliate marketing. Revenue streams on my site have been through CPM direct advertising and ecommerce model.

I discovered there are valuable products out there for my site which is in a unique niche. I just had to keep digging. And I had to think in creative ways beyond my norm for placement on my pages.

I enjoyed Ze Frank's keynote and was entertained while I was challenged to think beyond my current website. I was thoroughly bored by the Google guy and Fox media guy who's voices sounded more bored than I was. When I could understand them.

I'm now working on a plan that includes tweaking my current site. Adding an affiliate I found at ASE and updating some software that needed updating.

What about you? If you attended the ASE, what did you learn and where will it take you?

I was inspired at ASE. This was due to the people I spent time with and the opportunities that I saw. I determined that I REALLY need to push harder on the great sites I already own and make them stronger and better earners.

The changes I made to my site yesterday have been helpful already. I changed the placement of my links/creatives and instead of 1 conversion (my average) I had 5 yesterday. I'm hoping the changes stick.

A 500% increase in conversions would be nice

I had hoped to attend one of these soon, but can never find the time. I think selling DVD's of these things would be a good idea (hint.....)

I don't think the DVD would be worth much to be honest. I got very little out of the talks but got A TON out of meeting with other webmasters face to face.

Ditto there.... but as always AS are about networking and connecting with people... which was great I really enjoyed meeting the new people but it also spurred on many more GREAT ideas that i think will be extremely profitable in the near future.

sidenote/

Its always curious to me why someone would answer in the negative in the middle of a conversion.

In my mind, its like a classroom. Teacher asks a question. If you went to Hawaii for vacation, what did you see? A few kids raise their hands.

"Yes, Johnny?" ....Johnny says: I saw a volcano.

"Yes, Timmy?" ....Timmy says: I saw some fish.

"Yes Bobby?"....Bobby says: I didn't go to Hawaii.

Why respond? Its a curious thing.

We tried a few typical affiliate programs - and then decided to think outside of the usual web revenue box, and signed up for private label exchange hosting with intermedia. We have been very pleased with the outcome.
