How do you deside what type of ad to have on your site

Hi, I have a directory site that has links to tutorials, books (affilate links), etc...
I also am going to run ads on the site. The site is a programming language site that is a newwer language, so I am sure there is not much if any google adwords or anything like that. I know I can find plenty of hosting ads, but I think I will have to run my own ads on the site using something like phpAdNew2. What kind of ads should I look at doing and why?

I believe what you're trying to say in your post is that you want to sell ad space on your website and you don't know the type of ads you want to put on there, right? Since your website is a directory website, I would say that any website advertisement is acceptable, as long as it isn't spam, adult-related, or competing with your website.

How about being an Amazon affiliate? That'll get you on the right track.

yeh I will put amazon affilates, but I was thinking of a more diverce portfolio (wow sound like a broker) of ads on the site. More than amazon.
