I hope to keep this private, as I don't want the whole world to know what I'm doing.

This guy I know has TONS of MySpace logins that he phished on MySpace.

If I use those logins to post 2 bulletins/account a day advertising my website, how illegal is it? I've heard MySpace filters out URLs. However, will that be the farthest they go?

This earns me around $300/day with Adsense, so I want to do this.

Please let me know what would happen if I continued. As of now, I stopped, but can I continue without fear of legal action or losing my Adsense account?

And phishing is now even more severely frowned upon...if they aren't your accounts then don't use them.

You also posted a similar question on DP i think...stick to legit Myspace-ing and you'd be fine.

So uh, wouldn't that make you an accomplice? That's still illegal.

Certainly against the Computer Misuse Act if you are in the UK

Generally speaking in most countries it is illegal to access a "system" without proper consent or rights etc. By getting and using these accounts in a dubious phishing thing, you'd be accessing without consent etc.

It's very illegal.

If MySpace catches on, they can potentially (and I wouldn't doubt it) press charges.

If I were you I would stop and never do it again. You can go to jail for what you are doing depending on what country you live in..

MySpace can already press charges against you, and so can Google. It can only get worse if you continue.

You should stop immediately because you are risking serious problems if you get caught. That was a really stupid thing to get involved with on your part....

I know phishing is bad and I'm against it. However, if the users aren't blocked from their account - I don't see the problem with posting a few bulletins here and there. I mean, it's thier fault they allowed their account to be hacked/phished.

You're using an account that your friend got through phishing? ILLEGAL! Don't do it. It's not good to make money by using these type of methods.

Using this same logic, I guess it is OK for me to go into your home and "drink a few beers" without your permission or knowledge, if I can break in to your house. Afterall, "it's your fault you allowed your home to be broken into". Same thing. Not only does this violate many state and federal laws in the US, it also is sure to violate the ToS for AdSense, the AUP and/or ToS for Myspace, and also the ToS and/or AUP for your service provider.

Being the vindictive person that I am, if one of my accounts were affected by such activity, I'd be tracking down the user responsible then contacting myspace, google, their ISP, my state attorney general, their state attorney general, and a federal prosecutor.

But, what is most disturbing to me about this (using phished accounts), is that someone would even have to ask "is this illegal".
