I think it really has to do with the situation. If it is a win - win situation it is ok for me, but if the other party used it to profit without my knowledge or profit I would not be very happy about it.

what is your opinion on using other companies trademarks to profit?

What I mean is for example this:

A person has a site with tools for myspace.com and buys the domain myspacetools.com.

In that case they use Myspace trademark to profit.

I think if there is an agreement between the two parties and mutual benefits then it's great to offer things like tools for existing applications.

In the end, the user wins so that can't be too bad we're all users!

I think its okay as long as MySpace, or any other company that one is using a trademark from, doesn't get angry.
