Okay, I know these things are really a necessity, espeically when your sites get large, but how should I go about writing one? What do I need to include? Is there a technical format I should follow?

Im no master nor have done it very much , but look at a site with the same content and see what they include and what they have to say, and if your site is unique, say what you feel is most important.

Well, thank you very much. I'm not sure if I'll use it or not, but I really appreciate the offer.

So the question I have is this - what is the purpose of having a privacy policy? Is it just like a discalimer for your site to help prevent being sued?

For example you ask your members to subscribe to newsletter. Some people are conscious about their privacy and therefore If you won't have any privacy policy which makes sure that you won't sell their personal data(mainly e-mail for newsletter) anywhere otherwise simply they can sue you.

I am looking for a good resource to have my TOS (Disclaimer and Privacy Policy) done professionaly. I am about to launch a community (of international nature) and this is something I don't want to have problems in the future with.

No one has had this done for their site?

I have hired people on DigitalPoint to write Privacy Policies and I get my lawyer to write the disclaimers.
