Hey, my biggest client has asked for a second website, and he'd like a slideshow to showcase pictures of the real astate he has available. I thought I would ask you guys what the best one would be. I need it to be free, and I need to be able to use my own graphical buttons with rollover capabilities and all. I have one that I use in Dreamweaver, but it doesn't have captions, and I know there has to be one out there that allows captions. If someone can point me in the right direction, I'd love it.

If you use Dreamweaver, there is a Dreamweaver extension that uses XML and flash for a slideshow player at http://www.dwuser.com/flashslideshow/index.php that only costs $12.00 and can be customized quite a bit. I personally like it a lot and found it real easy to use. There is an example of the player on the site and I have a client's site where I used it, as well, to display her mural art at http://www.creativevisionmurals.com/gallery.html

Hope that helps!

I understand ya'll's suggestions, but I really don't want to use flash, I don't have it. I simply want to hit a button that says next. Like I said, I have one already, but I wanted the button to scroll through a caption as well. I figured this was something basic enough that someone would know of one real easy.

Thanx anyways, guys.

P.S.- That Jalbum thing looks really cool, however!

If your just looking to create slideshow buttons, then can't you just create them using Photoshop, and insert them as image rollovers below the pictures?? Maybe I misunderstood your question.

I would have to agree with the post above, Flash is perfect for this kind of thing. But I understand you not wanting to use it as it is expensive and has a bit of learning curve. The other website you might checkout is Dynamic Drive they have some interesting CSS, Javascript slide scripts that might be of use to you.

Hope that helps,
