what is the difference between saying
con.close();
and
con=null;

Using first one is good or second one?

I think we need a bit more context, but I'm gonna go with close(), since that suggests that you actually close the connectionen, whereas setting the variable to null will leave the connection open.

I wouldn't worry too much Mattius, I seriously doubt that the OP has any idea what it is asking about in any case.
