i need a search script or a search script tutorial that allows the user to select the category's to search in and the price range to search between. I have seen it in javascript before. then i need to make it work on joomla. any help please?

Probably not all in javascript, because javascript can only search the current page.

More likely as an AJAX request to a backend server side script.
