Hi,

I am working on an application that requires IE only as an user interface in order to receive data from the user and store it on the local file system. It doenot require any transfer of this input data on the net.

So, I store the html files with embedded javascript with activex objects that write the data entered in the input fields onto the local text file.

My query is whether there is a way to avoid all kinds of activex prompts in IE apart from changing IEs security settings to allow activex content to run on local files.

I tried adding this html under "trusted sites" of IE settings, but that takes only a website as an input and not a local file. I donot want to goto the extent of saying "http://localhost....." by installing a web server on the local machine.

It would be very nice if you could let me know of a way in IE such that one need not disable general activex or prompts and still not get a prompt for this local html running through the browser.

Thanks.
