I don't know what would be a good book to recommend, but I can, however, recommend how I learned. I learned most of what I know about all my programs through online tutorials. I've never owned or used a book to learn graphics by. Hands on methods are usually the best way to learn and I've found some great tutorials in the past. Just do a search for Paint Shop Pro Tutorials. Its not only easier, but alot cheaper on the pocket in a crunch.
