Hi everyone, I am a newbie here..

I just switched over from windows 95-98 to windows XP and I lost my settings in my PSP8 for my Gel Text.
I do not use the presets ever, all I do is use the settings in my inner bevel and presto instant gel text w/ out the presets.
So my question is, Does anybody know what the settings should be set on for this, such as what the width, smoothness, etc needs to be set on? I cannot remember what they were, and for the life of me I cannot find them posted anywhere.. PLEASE HELP!!

Thank you!
-Mary

Try this. It has bevel presets to download for gel text. Not sure if this is what you are looking for.

You may also try searching for "glass text" tutorials.

No, I have already been there and it does not have what I need, as I said before I do not use presets so any tutorial using them is no use to me.. All I need is the settings for my inner bevel.. And nothing using filters etc are no use to me either.. I know this is just so simple , but i can't remember what i had my settings on, i should have wrote them down, but didn't figure on getting a new computer this soon,lol..
Thx so much for your input though Connie greatly appreciated!

Do you have an example or old file that shows what it looks like? Maybe I can try to recreate it.

I think this is as close to a true gel as your going to get using just the inner bevel. A real gel look will have tansparency, distortion and illumination effects.

But these are all done using the same settings. I personally would tweak the settings for different colors and font widths but I wanted to see if I could come up with one bevel setting that could easily be applied to most.

The settings for this were the quarter round bevel, width: 11, depth: 8, smoothness: 18, ambience 85, shineyness 100. The light is white, angle: 25, intensity: 15 and elevation: 50.

Blay with those settings until you get what you like. Please note that I am using psp9 for this. Hope this helps.

And the settings I came up w/ lastnight afterplaying around with them some..

And this is an old file of something I made with my old settings and as you can see i came pretty darn close to the original after playing a bit..

Thank you again Connie for your help..

Awesome. That's generally what you need to do. Tweak and play around till it looks like you want. Glad you got it.
