I'm working in PSP9 on a vector project. While changing line thickness on a selection a script output window appeared with "vector Properties, Command execution failed".

The whole program is locked up. escape doesn't do anything and I cannot exit or save. It is one of those projects where I got on a role and hadn't saved yet, but now realize how much work I had done and don't want to lose it.

The task manager says the program is still responding but I've been waiting 15 minutes already for it to finish what it was doing and it's still locked up.

Is there a way to exit this other than task manager where I can save my work?

quick replies much appreciated.

Connie

I think I m a bit late for it... I dont know any way of retriving your work when it all goes pear shape but there is a Autosave setting that allow you to, well, automaticly save your work as you go along. Might be usefull for later.
It's in File ~Preference ~ Autosave setting (near the end of the drop down menu).
If it all goes wrong and have to close psp, it will reapear when you next reopen it.

Sorry couldnt help with your querry above.

Thanks Daisie,

I did end up recreating my work - unfortunately not quite as nice as the original. I'm sure you know how that it.

I have since upgraded to XI but seem to still be having some problems with it locking up, and not autosaving either. If you know of any tweaks I should be doing - I would welcome the tips.

I'm going to try increasing virtual memory. I will let you know if that helps.

Well Corel did it this time. paint shop pro XI has an issue with caching that causes RAM usage to max out. particularly a problem if you are working with vectors and gradients. This can cause extremely slow response (imagine waiting 3 minutes after "every" action), lock ups, shut downs, lost data (even with auto save on).

Corel's FAQ for this is to delete the cache files, empty your my pictures folder and re-open the software (so much for autosave). It is a pointless endeavor as after a few manipulations, or opening of a file the Cache files repopulate and you start having problems again.

The software is useless as far as I'm concerned and They can have it back. I'm looking for photoshop CS2 now.
