Paint Shop Pro X.exe hangs .. psp10 won't load

I have a problem with PSP 10 .. all of a sudden, it won't work .. the app hangs in the task manager at 17mb .. but doesn't load to desktop.,

tried uninstalling & reinstalling - still the same - hangs, won't work.

Help would be appreciated please

What really worries me about your post is the fact that uninstalling and re-installing doesn't solve the problem. Be sure to also clean out any registry settings related to PSP (while being careful & making backups beforehand, of course).

Also, consider calling tech support at Corel -- if you bought their software, they have an obligation to help you out.

yeah, cleaned out the registry too .. still not working.

the odd thing is - psp7 .. works fine ! but psp 10 just hangs there without loading.

Did you change any configuration or updated/installed something new after which it stopped working? This is really weird. Your best bet will be to contact Corel's support team, they might be able to sort it out for you.

Have you tried rolling back your system to before this happened?
Have you tried running ZapPS from Corel to uninstall PSP? (Uninstall by running ZapPS) from http://snipurl.com/zapps
Select all of the options from the right side of ZapPS. Don't forget to reinstall the patches in the correct order :-)
I've seen more people with your problem, I wonder if the latest MS download has interfered in some way.

I had the same problem before I had installed a new windows driver for XP. After that, Paint Shor Pro X was able to 9install and never had another problem. As far as Corel is concerned, I sent their suppor several emails and have never received a return answer. Wish you all the best with it.

If you have an Nvidia video card,or one that uses the Nvidia chipset, in your system, the cause of Paint Shop Pro hanging at startup may be due to the video driver. The problem can be resolved by updating the driver for the video card or disabling hardware acceleration for that adapter.
