I need to take part of one photo (just one person) and blend it with another of the family group to which that person belongs. I am essentially new to PSP and do not understand layers and how they work (the reference manual confuses me at the moment) and thus how I can get part of a layer to 'show through' into what is essentially a 'space' in the main photo.
I haven't explained my problem too well, I know, but does anyone have any ideas that might help? I'd be grateful for all suggestions . . . many thanks in advance.
Regards,
Bill Hunt

Try this link, hopefully this can help explain about the layers and blending.

Hi There,
I am a newbie to PSP myself but by trial and error + hrs of searching through the tutorials online I am learning everyday. You are having the same problems as me... but I know how to merge partial images onto another BUT and it is a BIG BUT... I have not mastered the technique yet.... You want to be using the cloning brush ... check your pm box
