Hello,

Could anyone advise me on the best way to remove the backround colour on the photograph.

Basicaly, all I want left are the black lines and the black text.

Im using PaintShopPro version 8.

Try Ajust - colours - brightness/contrast put the brightness up to 98 contrast to 68 this should make most of the background white. You'll need to do a bit of cleaning up and you should be there.

A technique I've used a few times with various degrees of success:

First, create an alpha from the iamge


Second make the alpha a negative image


Third, adjust the brightness/contract of the alpha



its not perfect, but for some images it works great!
