anyone know how i can make a pic look like this, with this glossy looking effect? and its not soften because i tried that . . . .

Are you sure that is an effect, and not lighting?

I'm no graphist, but did some photography, and this don't look glossy to me.
It looks like burned by a flash light (especially the second picture).

The white balance is off, and some nuances are lost in a "white sea", where you don't see any details.

Try adjusting your levels in photoshop.

In Photo-Speak, your "high light level is Blown Out", meaning it is too bright for the camera. Adjust the lens apperature wide open and have really bright highlight or shiny areas. In photoshop, you could mimic the results by using the lighting filters, but I don't know why you would want to. It is just bad photography, not at all appealing or flattering.

never mind im adjusting the levels now, but what should i adjust it to? like number wise? i don't think it has nething to do with the levels because its not working . . . =/

It looks like what they did is this

Go to "Adjust" then go to "Blur" and then click "Gaussian Blur" and set it to 5.00, then click ok. Then press CTRL+c, then ctrl+ z, then ctrl+l. now set the opacity to like 50. that should do it.

I took this picture of me and did it... not sure if this is really what you are wanting to do...

hmmm have a play around with the lighting/filters. the effect looks really subtle on the image as i havent seen a before and after. i sugest also having a look at various photo effect if using psp xi.

Yeah I don't know what he means look glossy like that ?
Having a nice model like in the first one certainly helps with all photography.
It would help if he described what he wanted to achieve a bit better.

Looks like the white balance is shoved up a bit. Like: Colours - ajust - brightness/contrast. put brightness and contrast up a bit until the light areas burn a bit. I have to agree with Tama though, looks nasty.
