Opening multiple images in one PSP window

I just had to replace a motherboard and reinstall my programs like PSP, which I always use for viewing images.

Now there's a curious difference: when I open images by double-clicking the icon, each image opens a new PSP window. This is a nuisance for comparing images, as well as having too many windows open.

Is there some way to have images open in the existing PSP window?

Of course I know I can open the image within PSP using FILE/OPEN, but it would be more convenient to click on images in open folders. Before my PC crash this worked fine, opening each new image in the existing PSP window. Can I get back to that?
