My question today is a fairly straightforward one.

“Which one is better to advertise an affiliate program to facebook or twitter”

(it is the promotion of a website building company called Sitesell / SBI)

It could be either one.

If you have 10,000 followers on Twitter and 1 fan on Facebook, Twitter would be the best choice.

If you have 10,000 fans on Facebook and 1 follower on Twitter, Facebook would be the best choice.

If you have a similar amount of likes/followers on Facebook and Twitter, I think Twitter is better for spreading your words.

Also you can try post your affiliate program in forums as many forums have a specific module for affiliate.

I agree with your post, and action of doing twitter, Facebook or Affiliate Program depends upon the choice of client weather he want to pay for marketing activities or SMM is sufficient for him.

I feel I should clarify myself - when I said "advertise to" I should have said "free" for facebook it would be to friends or friends of friends OR on twitter followers or following.

I hope this straightens it out a little.

Facebook is a better Option. It has crowd and traffic who really spend time on surfing.

It depends on which you have got better followers. Also by followers I mean the real ones and not the ones which you have got via exchange site's or bought them.

If the followers of an account are real I wouldn't mind paying to have my link tweeted out.

Both Facebook and Twitter has established a connection to almost all internet users around the globe. Advertising in any of them would definitely give you a good run. The only question is, where are you more popular? If you are well connected with people on both of the said websites then it will drop to the last question.

Facebook is updated faster and it reaches people easily, so i would suggest Facebook instead of Twitter.

Facebook has better interaction because of its level of connection to every users. Facebook is more suitable in advertising.

Depend which target market you have in those social media website. You can get buyer from both social media as long your followers of fans is quality .
I will said go for both since it free. No one complain about too much sales and only people complain not enough sales. So go for both while it integrate together mostly and it doesn't take huge project and time to manage both.

I worked on both so i will tell from my experience. With a good affiliate program you make about 1/3 of the money from procuts you sell directly. However, it gives you more time to do other things, as someone else's si selling your stuff. With facebook and twitter you reach a big audience, but usually with little result. It's better to have people who will sell your products using their techniques.
