I have a site Bailey's List dot com. I am thinking about changing all the content, completely redoing the site all together. I have been struggling to come up with a idea to make the site into. Does any one have a good idea?

I have already tried a classifieds direction. I think it was doing alright considering I didn't do very much marketing, maybe three days worth and it receives 500+ unique visitors each month. It is slowly increasing.

Maybe make it a marketing site and sell your marketing services? And you could also look into other ways of monetizing the site by putting up ads, etc.

Turn it into a review site of your favorite products. Or something along those lines.

Sell your own information product via the site added with clickbank and you will be be banging the big bucks to your bank account in no time!

500+ unique visitors each month is incredibly a small amount of traffic ...drop that domain,start something new

I'd say 500+ visitors is not a great amount, but sometimes one can use a site without all that traffic and be rewarded, selling links, stuff like that.

its small but no need to drop the domain..and work more time on SEO and slowly increase the traffic.. it may take time but will get result.. at the begning traffic wil be less but according to the work the visitors will be more....

There are really a lot of things that you can do. After doing a make over on your site, you can add its web presence by doing a little of SEO. Classifieds is just one way, you can try a lot more like blog commenting and directory submission.

Social bookmarking may be approved faster, but you need to post articles too to improve the keyword traffic. There are many submissions you must follow to work more effectively.

Since you have set your direction then you should focus on it . A classified site is where people advertise on your site . That you need to do lot of marketing to get lot of traffic and show others why they should advertise on your site with the traffic you have now.
Traffic and PR play huge role in the classified site.

I thought you are good in marketing, fresh content is always good in the eyes of the search engines but revising site content a lot of times can make you sick so be careful and sure in your next revision.

Every webmaster is searching for new ideas. If they got one, I don't think they would disclose it to you because it should be their business secret. Of course you can look up the services which you added in your signature.

About the traffic, I am not getting 500+ visitors at this stage to my blog....It's always tough at the first stage but time makes everything perfect. Hire someone to write contents regularly for your site if you really want to rewrite all your present articles....

Social Media is definitely the present, I saw an interesting video recently on the power of "teaching people" to push your other things, as it helps them and you(as they're more likely to trust you). Blogs and quality content concepts have been around for awhile, the teaching aspect has as well but it never dawned on me how effective teaching in itself could be, even though when I find a good site that answers my questions I get excited. So you can definitely consider applying that to your business.

Agreed. Don't know about others... but Facebook can bring good traffic. Of course we have to know the specific path. Earlier days I thought, If I got 2000+ friends and I share something then at least I will get 20 visitors instantly from fb to my blog. But later I realize the new fact and that is group. If you have a strong group and you have good impact as well as your website contents are helpful for the groups, then group member(s) will visit your blog and like your share.
