It takes time to get traffic to a website. Many founders will tell you, "oh we developed a little community and it just took off", yeah right! Everyone builds their sites through search engines. Once the site gets to a certain popularity it will naturally start gaining organic traffic on top of that.

So to answer your question, there is no quick way to do this. Just find out what it takes to rank in search engines and put the work in to get there. In saying that do it all naturally without manipulating Google and other search engines or else you will get a penalty.

i have an idea on how to get more traffic to your site. i just read this article (Removed) the article said that Social Media using facebook, twitter, blogs, linkedin, google+ and other social sites can boost the traffic to your site if you know how to use those avenue.

One can get traffic to his/her website by performing SEO techniques like:
Article syndication
Social Bookmarking
Guest Posting
Forum Participation
Blog commenting, etc

The first question I would have for you is what content management system you are using. If it's Wordpress, then I can make more specific recommendations for it.

If I were promoting your site, this is how I would do it:

1. Create a sitemap. Make sure that your titles, tags, metatags, and descriptions are the right keywords for your site. Then create your sitemap and submit to both Google and Bing. This will help you get indexed more quickly.

2. Send out a press release. You want to announce your new site. Tell others why you created it, and why you think what you are doing is needed in the marketplace. This will help you in creating a unique selling proposition. Show others how you are different.

3. Write articles. Show your expertise. Make sure you optimize them for the search engines, post on top article directories.

4. Bookmark your site. This will help you in building backlinks, but many of these sites are like news sites, so it's like writing a mini news story about your site. There are plenty of free tools you can use to make this easier.

5. Post a free classified. Craigslist is one of the most visited websites in the world, and it might get you some business.

6. Build a list so you can recycle your traffic. 98 percent of your visitors won't return. Give them a reason to come back.

7. Turn your articles into documents and videos and post on these sites. This allows you to recycle your content and get more from it.

The best way of getting traffic is by getting quality back links pointing to your site and the best way of getting backlinks is by forum posting especially when the forum offers dofollow links.

Yes, I am agree with your suggestion but I also research that today so many people are doing these kind of activities to get good traffic. So according to me to get good and more traffic we have to do something unique like doing some social networking with link building which gives you good traffic and increase traffic on your site.

Point A: The term "cowboy" in this context is used for someone in ANY trade who claims to be an expert, but proves by the quality of their work, that they are barely competent never mind experts.

Point B: The vast majority of SEO "experts" who are definitely not, therefore are 'cowboys' [see point A:], hail from the Asian subcontinent of India.

Point C: "Cowboys and Indians" aka 'Westerns', was a very popular theme or genre of early cinemagraphic works featuring such actors as John Wayne, Alan Ladd, Gary Cooper, Audie Murphy etc.
Point C(a): the terms "White hat" and "Black hat" come from the era that "Westerns" were popular as in such movies the 'Good Guys' sported white hats and the 'Bad guys' wore black ones.

Making a new web site is not a big issue but it rank in search engine is the major problem. Many people used many internet marketing tools to rank their websites, I think the most important thing is correct keywords, relevant targets and quality works help to place your site in top ranking.

I am not into Article Marketing. It is hard to write good unique content. So, why I should place such good article on somebody else site?
If I write good piece of content, it is more wise to place it on your own website or blog. Search Engines will notice such fresh content and thus, you will get more visitors, looking for the topic, presented in the article.
